Also known as the “Kamakura Alps,” this is a standard popular hiking course around the periphery of northern Kamakura, with multiple routes.

40 minutes on foot from Kita-Kamakura Station
From JR Ofuna Station East Exit Bus Terminal, board a bus bound for “Kamakura-ko. Get off at “Hansobo Shita”（半僧坊下） and walk 10 minutes.
2.Hansobo Entrance (Kenchoji Temple precincts)
15 minutes on foot from Kita-Kamakura Station.
20 minute walk from Kenchoji Temple grounds (500 yen entrance fee is required). 3. Imaizumidai 6-chome Park Entrance
From JR Ofuna Station East Exit Bus Terminal, board a bus bound for “Kamakura-ko. Get off at “Hansobo Shita”（半僧坊下） stop. 5 min. walk.
4.KakuonjiTemple Entrance
From the East Exit Bus Terminal of Kamakura Station, board a Keikyu Bus bound for “Daisekimiya”. Get off at the last stop, “Ohtonomiya”(大塔宮）, and walk 10 minutes.
5.Zuisenji Temple Entrance
From Kamakura Station East Exit Bus Terminal, take the Keikyu Bus bound for “Daisekingu”. Get off at the last stop, “Ohtonomiya”(大塔宮）, and walk 15 minutes.
Kinubariyama (Mt. Kinubari 衣張山), located in the southeast of downtown Kamakura, is a 121-meter-high mountain.

【Points】There are many sightseeing temples representing Kamakura such as Sugimoto-dera, the oldest temple in Kamakura, and Hokokuji, famous for its bamboo garden, as well as scenic spots such as Mt. Kinubari and Panorama-dai. The course can also be enjoyed in parts.

From the bus terminal at the east exit of JR Kamakura Station, take the bus at platform No. 5 and get off at “Sugimoto Kan-non”.
This is a combination of the Kuzuharaoka Course starting from Kitakamakura Station, from Jochiji Temple to Kuzuharaoka Shrine, and the Daibutsu Course leading to the Daibutsu (Great Buddha) of Kamakura beyond. The walk takes you through mountains full of greenery.

There are seven cut-throughs surrounding the city of Kamakura: Gokurakuji Cut-through, Daibutsu Cut-through, Keshizaka, Kamegayatsuzaka, Geifukurozaka, Nagoe Cut-through, and Asahina Cut-through. Of these, the Asahina Cut-through passes through the highest point.

・葛原岡・大仏ハイキングコース
北鎌倉駅から出発し、浄智寺から葛原岡神社までの葛原岡コースと、その先の鎌倉の大仏に続く大仏コースを合わせたものです。緑たっぷりの山の中を歩きます。

<ポイント>
鎌倉の街を取り巻く七つの切通しは極楽寺切通し、大仏切通し、化粧坂、亀ヶ谷坂、巨福呂坂、名越切通しと朝夷奈切通し。この中で朝夷奈切通しが最も高いところを通っています。
