He also announced that the current limit of 50,000 people returning or entering Japan will be lifted, and that he will resume accepting individual tourists from outside Japan, including those from the U.S. Currently, those who enter Japan for tourism purposes from abroad must obtain a short-stay visa, but the government has indicated that it will exempt them from this requirement starting on the same day.
